Bangkok Airways has commenced weighing passengers and their baggage before boarding flights.

This new rule is in effect from September 15th to October 31st. Passenger and carry-on luggage weighing will be conducted right at the boarding gate.

According to the airline's statement, this procedure aligns with international civil aviation standards. Weighing is intended to help calculate the maximum takeoff weight to ensure flight safety.

The airline assures the confidentiality of collected information and its use solely for weight and balance purposes.

A similar rule is already applied to passengers of Korean Air and Air New Zealand flights.

Bangkok Airways operates regular flights to destinations in Thailand as well as Cambodia, Hong Kong, Laos, the Maldives, Myanmar, Singapore, and Vietnam.
