Over the past weekend in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, there were at least 6 recorded cases of marine vessel flooding.

On December 23, about 4 miles south of the Surin Islands in Phang-Nga province, the tourist boat "Sawan Tour" sank due to strong waves. Twelve people were rescued, while two individuals, citizens of the UK and Thailand, went missing. The search for them is still ongoing.

On the same day at 11:30, representatives of Ao Phang-Nga National Park reported another incident in marine waters. A boat with four Russian tourists and a Thai guide overturned near Talu Rock. The tourists and the guide were rescued by park staff.

In the evening of the same day, the diving boat "Nortika" had an accident in Phang-Nga Bay. Three tourists and crew members were rescued by marine infantry personnel.

Also on the same day in the Gulf of Thailand, 3 miles off Ko Lan island, a tourist boat capsized due to strong waves. Twenty-six tourists and 3 crew members were rescued, and 6 people suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital in Pattaya.

On December 24 in Satun province near Ko Lek island, a speedboat sank due to strong waves and hull damage. Seventy-three tourists and 4 crew members were successfully evacuated to Ko Lipe island.

On the same day in Trat province near Ko Chang island, a fishing boat sank. The search for 6 Thai citizens is ongoing.

This morning, it was reported that two cruise liners couldn't deliver tourists to Ko Samui island due to high waves, but ferries between the mainland and the island continue to operate.

On December 25, the Meteorological Department issued another warning about possible storms in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. Small boats are advised to avoid sailing during storms.
