The victim reported to the police that he received a ride request through a mobile application late in the evening on December 2. Upon arriving at the location and waiting for the tourists, he encountered local taxi drivers working in rotation near the club.

The local taxi drivers were dissatisfied, and when passengers attempted to board the car, they began throwing unidentified objects at the vehicle. Later, a conflict ensued during which several taxi drivers attacked the victim with sticks.

The injured driver urgently reported to the police and was subsequently hospitalized in the Talang area. He was found to have rib injuries and lung issues. Concerned for his safety, he returned to the Trang province to continue his treatment.

Phuket police have not yet commented on the attack on the Grab Taxi driver. The incident occurred just a day after Prime Minister Setthap Thavorn visited Phuket. During a meeting with local authorities, Setthap emphasized the importance of tourist safety, crucial for Phuket's tourism image.
