Former Prime Minister of Thailand Thaksin Shinawatra.

The former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, like other prisoners, has the right to another royal pardon in special cases.

This was announced by the former Minister of Justice.

Special cases for pardon may include the anniversary of the death of King Rama IX on October 13 or his birthday on December 5, also celebrated as National Father's Day.

Moreover, it is not excluded that the former prime minister may receive a pardon based on his health condition.

Last week, His Majesty King Rama X pardoned Thaksin, reducing his eight-year sentence in three cases to one year.

The former prime minister of Thailand is still undergoing treatment at the Main Police Hospital, where he was taken on the first night after his return to the country.

Thaksin may be returned to Bangkok's detention center if his condition improves. Otherwise, he will remain in the hospital until the end of his sentence.
