Klook is changing its company policy and taking a stand against animal attractions to prevent cruelty to animals.

According to the non-profit organization World Animal Protection, starting from the end of October 2023, it will be impossible to purchase tickets for shows involving elephants, dolphins, and tigers on the Klook website or app. This move will put increased pressure on many other tourism companies that continue to sell tickets for such activities.

A representative from the World Animal Protection organization in Thailand commented on the decision, saying, "We support Klook's actions against tourist activities that involve direct interaction with elephants in Thailand, including bathing, feeding, and riding elephants."

According to a survey conducted by Suan Dusit in 2022, 76% of entertainment venues involving elephants in Thailand had reported cases of cruelty to animals.

Thailand has numerous iconic attractions involving animals that are very popular among tourists. Some of the most popular ones include elephant swimming shows at Lucky Beach in Phuket, dolphin shows at Dolphin Bay Phuket, tiger shows at Tiger Park Pattaya in Chonburi, and the Phuket FantaSea theme park.
